Passports

The Marshall County Clerk's office provides information about how to obtain, replace or change a passport.

To obtain a passport for the first time, you need to go in person to the Clerk's office with one passport photograph of yourself, proof of U. S. citizenship (certified birth certificate), and a valid form of photo identification such as a driver's license.

You will also need to come to the Clerk's office in person to apply for a U. S. passport if your previous passport is not in your possession, if your previous U. S. Passport has expired and was issued more than 15 years ago, if your previous U. S. passport was issued when you are under 16, or if your previous or your currently valid U. S. passport has been lost or stolen.

Payment for the passport is made in two separate payments.  The fee for the passport required by the Federal Government, in the form of a personal check or cashier's check/money order, no debit/credit card can be accepted for this payment, will need to be made out to the “U.S. Department of State”. The fee required to process it through the County Clerk’s office can be made several ways:  Check, Cash, Cashier / Money order or debit/credit card.
