Budget Administrative Clerk (Part-Time)
Marshall County Office of Accounts & Budget
This is responsible administrative work coordinating and assisting with a variety of budget related activities and functions for Marshall County government. Activities associated with the job include greeting individuals and answering incoming calls to the Budget office and taking messages and/or referring individuals and/or employees to the appropriate party for assistance. Additional activities include assisting with filing, grants, and other accounting duties as needed. Job related duties require knowledge of basic office skills, strong organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills, and dedicated attention to detail. Job performance is evaluated by the Director of Accounts and Budgets through review of knowledge and expertise in budget administration, knowledge of budget functions including relevant laws and regulations, organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills, accuracy, and thoroughness of completed tasks and the level of administrative support provided for budget related functions.
Necessary Requirements of Work
Graduation from an accredited four-year high school, with additional course work in business administration, personnel management, or closely related field; a minimum of three years’ experience working in an office environment; knowledge of employment law; or any equivalent combination of education or experience to provide the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of computer software programs including Microsoft Office suite and Skyward.
- Ability to prioritize and organize personal time and activities and meet all established deadlines.
- Ability to effectively provide assistance to supervisors, staff, and the public.
- The ability to maintain confidential information in an organized and acceptable manner.
- Skill in the use of office technology including a computer, laptop, copier, calculator, scanner, etc.
Necessary Special Requirements
- Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver’s License and the ability to obtain vehicle insurance at standard rates.
- Must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
- Skyward experience is a plus.
